SHAPY is a Swedish manufacturer of high quality nutrition supplements. On days when I train twice or three times, I usually fill up some of the tanks with a protein drink. Shapy has now offered to supply me with their products!
Thanks a lot Shapy and thanks a lot to Petra at Naturapotheket in Östermalms gallerian!

All the hard training are done now. All that is left to do is prepare mentally and rest for next weeks racing. I really look forward to see what it all will lead to! 41 other single rowers will be waiting there and the races will kick of on friday with 9 heats!
More info here!

Basically all the best scullers in the world are there except from the world champion Mahe from New Zealand. Yesterday I brought LolaII, my boat, to Lassi’s place in Uppsala. From there ‘Pliggen’ his coach will drive our boats over to Oslo where they will be loaded onto the Norwegian trailer that is going to Linz.
Coming days will be just some more relaxed rowing and some playing with speed and starts. Just keeping the feeling.

So out of the blue comes a guy strawling to the club. It is just a random day. I just put my boat away with the usual tired legs and I’m wondering if I should jump in the shower now, do some stretching or help some beginners on the dock. Than I bump Björn who pulls me over and says ‘here, this is him, this is Paul, talk to him’. In front of me stands a big arabic looking guy that I somehow recognize. It appears to be Haidar.

A tough week. Doing the last hard work before resting and loading for the coming races. Today we did some 1000mtr pieces all flat out. It went pretty ok, and I think have taken a good step forward from the last race in Farsta. But we are not ready yet. Tomorrow its 500mtr pieces.
Ironical the hardest week of training comes in a week where Point65 opened its new shop in Pampas marina. Tuesday and wednsday I worked 20 hours… Zapping up and down to work and to training on the scooter is nearly the highlite of the day. The little machine seems to like and have so much fun driving it. It is sort of the charm of not having so much power in the engine, so the sport is to keep the speed up all the time. The 4,5 litres of fuel she guzzles a week is nicely refilled by the skilled hands of Tom.

Though rowing might seem like a very simple thing. One movement, requiring not more than muscles and an ocean of endurance. WRONG. Yess, those qualities are an essential part of it, but they are left worthless if not a prefect technique and feeling for the boat and the water is there. A reason that rowers row thousands of kilometes for just that one race. For me it is important to have a picture in my mind of how I want it to look. For me the best rowing position is not totally natural. I have to constantly remind and reset myself to keep the perfect posture so that the driving muscles can do their work at the most efficient. Frida Sevensson, the Swedish star in the ladies single, is for me the biggest inpiration when it comes to the technical side of rowing. Straight back, straight arms, perfect angles at the catch, hugely effective with legs, powerfull finish, in other words…perfect. (my opinion..
)I hope Louise does not crack my head now that she knows that I think of other women while rowing… haha.
Have a look a look at the following pics and judge for yourself.
