Todays racing ended for me 2nd place 10 seconds again behind Lassi. A pretty good race for me. I could not really push myself to row as fast as I would like to go, but being were I am now and knowing what preperation I have had and I have still to do I am absolutely satisfied. A reasonable start wich put me along side Micke, Peter and Lassi. Micke and Peter a fast starters and Micke is know for his first 1000m.


Again at the 500m mark Lassi pulled away and the rest fell back. I kept working my steady speed at 32 and saw Micke, Peter and Pontus slide away. Lassi by that time felt miles away and it was a bit difficult to push harder. 500 to go, I felt far to fresh, but could not come up with a sprint. Lifting it to 34 was all I could. I heard Lassi finsih beeep, counted to ten and than finally came mine….than suddenly you get knocked out of your shoes of the lactic acid…lovely.
Micke came in 10sec after me. Funny, I have never beaten Micke before, but as progress i made the bars rises. I should probably be pretty happy with beating Micke…but you know…you can never be satisfied. Rowing…the monster that never is satisfied…
Louise had a tough race in the quad an finished 4th. Our gang with novice girls had a ball, rowing singles and four. They all did awsome and David’s Ewa seemed to be the fastest in the single if not having rowed straight into the reeds. Hanna took the victory.
Dave, Jan, Tobbe and Walle could not stand off the big boys national four but gave them a tough first 1000m to bite in. Than the eight, SRF’s parade horse took home the gold with fresh new manpower from the Iraqi national squad. Heider left his country for Sweden and knocked on our door. We have actually met last year in Lucern on the World Cup and he will from now on row in Sweden.
Ok, Lassi and I rigged the double and took it for a spin and will try to give Peter and Pontus a race tomorrow.
